Pyrotape - Silicone Coated Non-Adhesive Glass Fibre Tape

Pyrotape is flexible and designed to protect wires, cables and hoses from the hazards of high heat and occasional flame. Pyrotape withstands intense heat and flame and sheds molten splash immediately. It will offer continuous protection at operating temperatures of 250°C and can withstand molten metal splash at 1650°C. The Pyrotapes provide excellent insulating properties, and also offer protection from personal burns when working near hot gases, steam lines etc. They are good for "Retro-fitting" when, for example, uncoupling hoses is not a viable option.

Outstanding Molten Splash Protection

Pyrotape is a knitted glass fibre tape, heavily coated with a high grade, proprietary compound of iron oxide red silicone rubber. The specially designed compound sheds molten metal splash immediately, so very little heat transfer occurs.

Installation

During installation, The Pyrotape should be applied with a 50% overlap to ensure full coverage and eliminate gaps. As the tape is non-adhesive and will not fuse to itself, it must be securely fixed at both ends using metal cable ties or jubilee clips. For more information on: Cable Ties & Printed Cable Ties

High Temperature Protection for Hoses and Cables

Is a very flexible tape designed to protect wires, cables, and hoses from high ambient temperatures. It will offer continuous protection at an operating temperature of 250°C and can withstand a molten metal splash at 1200°C
