Flame Retardant Anti-Static Spiral Guard®, suitable for the protection of most types of hydraulic, pneumatic and industrial hose assemblies. Tested and approved in accordance with the former British coal specification 182:1986, satisfying the requirements of the non-metallics scheme for use underground.
The Spiral binding has been manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE). HDPE is well known for its strength, chemical resistance and its ability to protect against harsh environmental conditions which promotes strength and a working long life. It has a gloss finish and it is the only plastic hose protection to be cut from pipe.
The Spiral Guard has been designed to be easily installed and removed making it user friendly. It simply wraps around the existing pipes or hoses promoting a quick and efficient installation without the need for any tools.
The FRAS is flexible making it easier to stretch and slide onto the object you are protecting. It has an open structure along its length promoting flexibility which ensures that the binding will wrap around various hose diameters within its size range without the need to disassemble or disconnect.
As the Spiral Guard is anti-static and flame retardant it is the perfect solution for underground applications like mining or Quarrying. It has been tested and approved in accordance with the former British coal specification 182:1986, satisfying the requirements of the non-metallics scheme for use underground. The Spiral binding is ideal for wrapping one or more hoses and lowers the danger of industrial injury due to its excellent anti-crushing ability and high abrasion resistance.
